More Valentines for my Grand babies!

So, I pulled out the cute Party Panda's again and made 2 more cards for the grands. Did I mention that we have 4 now! Yes, 3 girls and a boy. Ages 12, 8, 2 and 2 months. They are fun but we live 1000 miles a part so I have to get my cards ready ahead of time and get them in the mail! These last 2 are  for the 2  year and the 2 month old, both girls.  These also will go with SUO challenges this week.

Cards Inspired and Cased from Debbie's Designs

I love it when the DSP is so pretty that it practically makes the card for you. That is how this 6x6 pack of Picture Perfect Party paper works. I simply cut the paper, layered and added the sentiment from the matching stamp set Picture Perfect Birthday. Simple, simple, simple!

I got my idea from Debbie's Designs when she posted for the Saturday blog hop she does. My paper was on order so I had to wait to do these. As you can see, I made a couple of changes. There are so many designs from which to choose.

Awesomely Artistic

How about a great, simple and quick little encouragement card? I did a little watercolor wash on some thick white card stock for the base of the image. After it dried I stamped the little dragonfly and the sentiment. I layered them a few times and got a pretty little card!

Party Pandas

I sat down to play with one of my new Sale-a-Bration sets, Party Pandas this evening and quickly cased a card I had seen on the internet to make a Valentines card for 2 of my grandchildren. I used some retired DSP and glitter paper. They turned out so cute. This is a fun and easy stamp set to use because Panda's are black and white. They practically make themselves.

#tgifc143 Theme Week - Awesome Friends!

I turned to my nautical side again for this card. I love the shells in the So many Shells set. The are so pretty and you can make them any color. I have seen some of the most beautiful shells while diving and most are occupied with somebody. I would never disturb their home but I can tell I have been tempted to get one or two for a momento.  My husband and I go diving as often as we can and he is truly the extra in my ordinary. This one is for him! It just happens to go with the TGIF challenge this week.

A Clean and Simple Valentine card

A fun sketch again this week. It also lends itself to a clean and simple card so I am submitting it to 3 challenges this week. It is just simple, nothing special but I really like the set Sure Do Love You especially the heart that I showcased on this card.

Monochromatic Baby!

How about a beautiful monochromatic card today. Today I used my Dragonfly Dreams and Dapper Denim to make a fun, beautiful monochromatic card. Yes, everything is 1 color (excluding the Whisper White). I think this is a great way to showcase how all the Stampin' UP! products work and match so well.  That is what attracted me to Stampin' Up! in the first place. The card stock matches the ink matches the markers and the DSP!

This is the card I am presenting to the SUO Challenges this week. Thanks for looking and comments are forever appreciated.

January Paper Pumpkin

Each month you get a surprise in the mail. You never know what is in the box or what it is going to be! It is always fun and often makes 3-D items. Click the picture above to see the video for this month's projects being made. The pic below shows the special going on now with Paper Pumpkin subscriptions.

Glamper Greetings

We sold our little pop-up camper a few months ago and bought us a small 'self-contained' camper. My sister (the one who does taxes for a living) said we can count it as a 2nd home because it has a shower and toilet! We love the out doors and camping and hiking and kayaking and especially diving. We have spent many a night camping, even on our honeymoon!

Seaside Shore

Hmm, what can I tell you about me? I love anything nautical. My husband and I and all of our children are scuba divers and we love all things about the sea. I tend to buy every stamp set that has anything nautical. This was an easy card. I did use some retired DSP because, well, I hoard and then have so much left over.

Supplies Used:
Card Stock: Whisper White
DSP: retired
Inks: Real Red, Night of Navy
Misc: linen thread, dimensionals

High Tide

This is the first card I made using the new catalog set called High Tide. I really love how you can get such dimension out of the stamp set. Just keep adding stamps and it seems to come to life. I made this one for my husband of 37 years.

PP376 - A Color Challenge from Jaydee

Today is a color challenge with the Paper Players. I have not played in a long while and I have to say, this is not my favorite color combo so I struggled to make a card. That being said, challenges do keep the brain going! I went to Stampin UP! for the idea in the new Occasions catalog. I pretty much cased a sample they made keeping mine simple like the one they made.

Supplies used:
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Lemon Lime Twist
DSP: The Gentlemen
Ink: Dapper Denim
Misc: Corduroy Ribbon, stampin" dimensionals

Supplies Used:
Card stock: Island Indigo, Very Vanilla

CAS(E) this Sketch #254

I am casing this sketch and I am dreaming of warmer weather as I stamp this card. At first I was just going to leave the branch bare but I had to add the pretty Powder Pink flowers. I saw a Cardinal in our back yard last week (rare for this part of TX) and I wanted to leave the impression of a red bird.

Supplies Used:
Card stock: Soft Suede, Pool Party and Whisper White, Powder Pink
Ink: Soft Suede, Real Red and Powder Pink
Misc: Lace Doily, Linen Thread and dimensionals

Thank You using Daisy Delight

I made this little card using the stamp set Daisy Delight and the DSP that matches the set called Delightful Daisy. Yes, I am trying to use more of my DSP rather than savoring and hoarding it until is is retired. I still have a long way to go!!! This was a different fold so that is gives a peek of the middle of the card and opens top and bottom. I love the punch for the daisy. It makes making daisies so simple and quick!

Supplies Used:

Card Stock: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight
Ink:  Night of Navy
Punches: Daisy and 1/2" circle
Misc. : Stampin' Dimensionals

Watercolor Wonder

I made this card using my new Watercolor Wings stamp set from Stampin' Up! of course. It has lots of layers and fun images to make butterflies. I love butterflies in their flying form but not as caterpillars. (Bad childhood experience). I used the colors I found on a challenge: Night of Navy, Fresh Fig and Island Indigo. It came out nicely but I will try different colors on my next go round with this stamp set.

CAS(E) this Sketch #253

This is the fun sketch I am choosing to play with today. I just love a good sketch. This one came from CAS(E) this Sketch and my friend Brian King from Atlanta (Hi Brian) is now a part of this team. We met at a card swap and he is so fun!

My card uses the new set from the annual catalog, Magical Mermaid. It has love ocean images and I do love the ocean! I kept it simple like the sketch. My card is Pear Pizzaz and I layered it with Whisper White and Pool Party. I used my Black Stazon ink and then colored the mermaid tail with Lemon Lime Twist. I know it does not show up much but her whole tail is glittered with Dazzling Diamonds.

SUO Only Challenges 191

SUO Challenge 191: Brrr! Baby It’s Cold Outside!

Happy New Year! We’ve just finished with the 2017 Winter Holiday Season. But here in the Northern Hemisphere, winter has just started in earnest. Just ask all of those on the USA Mainland who are dealing with winter storms this week! Brrr! So whether your weather is just cool or freezingly cold – or even if you’re just reading about it from some warmer location – create a card or other paper-crafted project (oooh, think Scrapbook Page!) this time that features something that you think of when it’s really cold outside.

Last week in Dallas it was extremely cold for us. We never got above freezing for 3 whole days and the lakes were freezing at the edges. I saw this challenge and decided to make a cold tree. I used the Sheltering Tree stamp set with Whisper White and Marina Mist card stock. I also used Marina Mist ink, Real Red and Basic Black. I added some Dazzling Diamonds for the snow effect and the word Snow.

The Paper Players Punny Valentine Challenge

This one is right up my ally! I love satire and puns and often tease the kids I work with on a daily basis. I like to challenge them to think and figure things out. My card features the retired set Pun Intended. I really did not use it enough so I pulled it out and decided to go with the cute bee. I made my card 3x3 so it is perfect to slip in a lunch box or brief case. I used Whisper White and Daffodil Delight card stock with a tiny heart of the red glimmer paper. The only ink used was Black Staz On.

Another New Year's Card

I decided to make another New Year's card. It is really cold here in Dallas today. It is the 2nd day in a row with temperatures not getting above freezing. That my friends is frigid for Dallas, TX. I quickly sat down and make this card using Whisper White, Basic Gray and Rose Red. I also used some to the retiring (now retired) Christmas Around the World DSP.

Create with Connie and Mary CCMC 490

CCMC490

It is a sketch I am playing with this week with Connie and Mary.  They now play on FB so I am attempting to post my card to their site. I got pretty literal with the sketch doing the same shapes but I played with my Daisy Delight stamp set. I really hate winter and so after Christmas I am ready for summer!!! I  used Whisper White, pieces of Delightful Daisy DSP, Old Olive, Peekaboo Peach and a little circle of Wisteria Wonder. All stamping was done (what little there was) using the Daisy Delight set. I also sponged the petals of the flower to give it a pop.

15 year Pin

Well, I did it! Just when I was really thinking about totally hanging up my stamping addiction I got my 15 year pin from Shelli and Sara. It came with a nice letter and I was surprised, shocked and knocked into reality. Really, 15 years! I have been to several local events in Atlanta and North Carolina, one in San Antonio and 1 more. I have been a demonstrator at an event and I have even been a helper at an event. I have only gone up to Elite once and it did not last. I have not put in the work since moving twice in only a couple of years! Celebrate with me and let's get to stamping again!
