Final Post and the End of this Blog

As March closes so does this Blog. It has been a great run! Hugs. Prayers. Love. This is my final card and so fitting as this is my wish for you.

As I close I will say that I have enjoyed all 2944 posts and all your wonderful comments. Keep it real and keep on crafting!

Hey, Chick

It 's hard to believe but another Sale-a-Bration is ending this week. I have been doing this for more than 10 years and it is hard to believe but I will be closing this chapter in my life soon. I still love paper crafting and I always will but I will no longer be selling SU! So, this will be my last SAB. It has been a great one. Thanks to all my friends and family who have supported me through the years!

Happy Birthday to my DH

Today is my darling hubby's birthday. Although we have been married for 36 years, it never gets old with him. We love to hike, travel, scuba dive and we both love the Lord. What more can you want in a husband than someone who is helping you get to heaven! Happy Birthday, my love. Yes, this is all retired goodies but our next big adventure in life will be learning to sail and I wanted a nautical type card with the part of the earth we love...the Caribbean!

Perfectly Wrapped

This is another quickie that I put together. The hardest part was fussy cutting the flowers. I used the Playful Palette dsp to choose my colors...Emerald Envy and Sweet Sugarplum. I love how simple it is and how versatile it can be.

Dragonfly Dreams

I love this dragonfly dreams set. I say set because it comes in a bundle so that you save $$$. I made this card using Whisper White and Basic Black card stock. I cut white dragonflies and colored them with my markers then I overlaid them with the black dragonfly. I love the effect. It doesn't really show but I also used a Wink of Stella on the bugs to make them shine!

Tasty Trucks ... You're the Sweetest

How fun would it be to have a truck that delivers just the best cupcakes. I am sure they are out there but I have never seen one. I made this one using some retired DSP to make it look like a party truck. Bring on the cake!

Designer Tee

I wanted to use some more of my SAB stamp sets and I did not have a t-shirt stamp. I decided to make a simple card with the repeating phrase from the Designer Tee stamp set. I lived through the smiley face t-shirt years that Forrest Gump wore. My dad wore one of them proudly back in the day!

You're the Best...Tasty Truck/Ambulance

I was thinking of this nurse that I work with that responded to a student 'passing out' that ended up with CPR and the discovery of a heart problem. Due to her quick actions she was able to save a life. That is what school nurses do every day! This card is for her.

Inside the Lines DSP

I wanted to make another quick card and used some of the Inside the Lines DSP only available during Sale-a-Bration. It is pretty even if you do not color it! For this one I colored the little bee and added some glimmer with a wink of Stella.

Sponged Butterfly Effect

For this card I again used post-its to frame the background and sponged Marina Mist into the rectangle. I also used 3 colors to sponge a piece of whisper white that I then cut the butterfly out of using my Big Shot and the bold butterfly die. The sentiment is from...I can't remember. Let me know if you know it so I can remedy my brain block.

Best Birds catalog Case

I am flipping through the catalogs and trying to CASE (copy and share everything) some of the catalog projects to show that yes, even you can make them. With the great products of Stampin' Up! anyone can be an artist! This card was simple to make and oh so pretty!

Happy Day card

For this card I also used some the Inside the Lines DSP but this time I colored inside the lines. Have you seen that Stampin' Up! has brought back the watercolor pencils. This time they are in the Brights colors but who knows...they have been so popular that they keep selling out. I am thinking many people are using them for their Bibles. I know it does not show in the picture but I also used some the Wink of Stella on the dragonfly. It really shimmers in real life. Remember to use this hostess code to order by the 15th of March.

Hey, Chick

This is one of the most popular stamp sets in SAB this year and it has to be because of this featured chick and her funky style. In so many ways I think we can relate to her. I cased this layout and changed the colors and sentiment for my style.

Tasty Trucks = Tasty Treats

I used the SAB set Tasty Trucks to make this clean and simple card. I used the cupcake and the ice cream cone and put them on one block to make stamping them more simple. I then colored them using the blender pen and ink pads. I added the baker's twine and called it done.

Sale-a-Bration is in Full Swing and Winding Down

Yes, the biggest sale of the  year for Stampin' Up! officially ends March 31st. Have you seen the newest goodies that you can earn for FREE! Check them out here. Plus the other goodies are still available with the current catalog and the Spring Occasions mini catalog. Woo, that's a lot of stamps and fun stuff!

Today I am featuring a card that uses the SAB free DSP called Inside the Lines. It is great for those of you who love to color or you can leave it as a beautiful black and white background like I did on this card. I also used the new Dragonfly Dreams from the Spring mini catalog that has a beautiful die cut for the dragonflies.

I am doing my first party that includes a Hostess Code. Use this code H94GHHHN when you order from Stampin' Up! and I will get credit for your order. Party closes March 15th.

Sponging a Happy Hello

Again, this was a tutorial from another stamper but I have done this many times. First I used post-it notes to make a frame of 1/2". I then used sponges and ink pads (Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo) to sponge the colors. I stamped the sentiment in black and die cut the gorgeous butterfly. The card itself is Crushed Curry.

Creating Pretty Cards – Sketch Challenge #68!

I have made one more card for this sketch seen at Craft Project Central Sketch # 68.  Last month they did not have 10 to draw from and I don't want anyone to miss out for the lack of 1 card. I love this oceanic stamp set as I love anything about the sea. I used the Seaside Shore to stamp the little fish and his bubbles. I can now say that I have actually seen a fish blow bubbles out of his gills as a scare tactic. It startled me but it did not scare me away.

Hey Chick

This is quickly becoming a favorite freebie for SAB this year for me. I love the little chickens in this set. I kept this one very simple and used Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White - a color combo that is never wrong! The stripe paper is from the Pop of Pink DSP.

Thank You card in color

I found this card and a quick tutorial for it and had to make one. I changed up the colors to suit me but the rest is the same. I started with a Whisper White card then stamped using the Swirly Bird stamp set. I cut using the matching die for that set. The colors are So Saffron, Marina Mist, Pear Pizazz and Rose Red. Pretty and fun!

CPC Card Challenge of the Month - #68

The sketch this month is tres simple so play along. This is my 2nd card for this sketch and may not be my last one. For this card I used Whisper White, Real Red, Emerald Envy and Basic Black card stock. I also used a piece of the Fruit Stand DSP for the strawberry and the stripe paper. The bees are from Dragonfly Dreams and the matching die cut. The words are from the Hostess set Pun Intended.

CCMC445

This is my take on their sketch this week.

This card featured Marina Mist, Calypso Coral and Dapper Denim  card stock. It also uses a strip of the By the Shore DSP . The inks used were Basic Black, Dapper Denim and Calypso Coral. The fish are from the Seaside Shore stamp set.

Bring on the Summer with Dragonfly Dreams

I cannot say how ready for summer that I am! I really hate winter and this year has been no exception. At least we are going on a Caribbean vacation in a couple of weeks for our Spring Break! So, this paper stack called Serene Scenery is so yummy. I took what looks like a wildflower field and filled it with dragonflies. Bring on summer!

Dragonfly Dreams...

Another Dragonfly card and this one is a case of someone...hmm, my memory fails me. Anyway, I used watercolor paper and my watercolor pencils. Scribble on the paper, water it with the Aqua Painters and voila...you get a gorgeous background. I then added some dragonflies cut using my Big Shot and a little verse from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set.

Valentine Treats from My Paper Pumpkin

I am always a bit late on posting the Paper Pumpkin kit projects and this month is no exception. People get them in different places sooner or later and mine seem to come a bit late. But never fear, I get them done. This last month was a Valentine project and it is so cute. As you may know, I have been working in schools for the past 17 years and that never leaves me a shortage of folks to craft for and this year I have made a passel of these darling boxes. I filled them with Dove chocolate hearts and called them done. It is all in the details. So cute, if you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin  you get this kit before it is gone. If you don't subscribe...why not? For only 19.95 (including S&H) you can have kits like this mailed to your home monthly! Subscribe here and be sure to choose me as your demonstrator!

This makes 2 for me this year and this little Sealed with Love bundle is such fun! I love the edged hearts on the card and the pretty DSP from the paper stack in the mini Occasions for Spring. Someone is definitely going to be feeling the love this year!

Sealed with Love

I cannot forget that Valentine's will be  here soon so I cased a card from Mickey Roberts and made a couple of minor changes to make it mine. I loved her sketch and this is the first time I have played with this stamp set. I got it to make a banner for my office at work. I still will and when I get it up I will share it but for now I am sharing my Valentine card for 2017.

Challenge Sketch CCMC443

The sketch is simple and fun and I matched it with Hey, Chick and some Playful Palette DSP. I love these little chickens and as the Fort Worth Stock Shows have just ended these chicks are so much fun. There really are chickens like these!!! Play along with this sketch here.

Paisleys & Posies

I really like this pretty stamp set. I like Paisley's and if you do then this is a great set for you. It has lots of paisley's and words... It is a two-for!  I did this card to look like a bandana and I used Tempting Turquoise. I am sick and tired of winter and am ready to "tie one on" (a bandana) and get outside to do some yard work! I made this one into a quick anniversary card because our anniversary is in March.

3x3 Cards

These little 3x3 cards are fast, fun and easy to make and they make great gift enclosure cards that you could by for a couple of dollars anywhere. They use very little supplies but can make a big impact. You could punch a hole and tie them onto a gift bag or you can punch your own envelope using the envelope maker punch and some cute designer paper or even just printer paper.

Another Dragonfly Dreams card

Here is the 2nd card we will be making with what I hope will be the making of my first club here in OKC. This set has great images and a matching set of thinlets for cutting accuracy.

Image may contain: text

I am playing with this Color Challenge today and I was a bit stumped at first then since I am already dreaming of my favorite season...Summer I decided to do a bit of Glamper Greetings. We love all things outdoors and camping is in the list. We have a little pop-up but are looking to upgrade to something more self-contained one day. This is such a cute set and the first time I have used it!

Dragonfly Dreams

I never thought much about dragonflies until we moved to OKC. There were hundreds around all the time there on the lake and many visited our yard. Now we are in the Dallas area and we are closer to a lake. Looking forward to having these beauties visit my flowers and garden. This is a great card that I will be making with my new stamping friends very soon!

Pikachu Punch Card

In the special education classroom that I work with, the students love the Pokemon craze and discuss the chase and collection regularly. That got me thinking about making a special Pokemon card for someone. Here is my fist attempt.

3x3 Valentine Card

How about a cute 3x3 Valentine's card. It would be so great tucked in a lunch box or book bag or even an overnight case. Love the red, white and black.

Hey, Chick

I really do like this stamp set ... Hey, Chick. It is so cute. I am in love with this goofy and fun loving chicken. This is a 3x3 card that is perfect for a gift enclosure.  This is a limited SAB set that can only be earned, not bought during Sale-a-Bration. Ask me how!

One More Chicken card for now...

I made another chicken card that I cased from the SAB mini catalog. I used different DSP but the layout is the same. I thing this chicken is so cute!!!

Wednesday, January 18, 2017

Hey, Chick

Here in the Dallas=-Fort Worth area of Texas chickens are big money.  And the breeding of chickens is from the normal to the fantastic! I have seen bushy chickens that look like a family pet and the ordinary chicken who has been engineered to be a great layer. This fun set from SAB speaks to my heart.

Tasty Trucks Again

Here is another tasty truck and this one features cupcakes...another craze on the market today! Who would have thought that something as simple as a cupcake could make you rich! Ahh, it is all in the timing of things. I made another tasty truck using my fun SAB set.

Tasty Trucks

I really don't get it. When I was a teenager there were food trucks running about but they were referred to as Roach Coaches. Now they are all the rage! many events will pay to have them come and you get in line to buy tasty food truck items. So, this stamp set from SAB fits the exact theme of the food truck craze.

Hey, Chick

Hey, Chick or How to Know you need to change your cutting blade. Many of us have to wrestle our tools away from our kids but I have to wrestle them from my husband.  He does embroidery jobs on the side and is always using my cutting tool to cut his interfacing. Well, needless to say it dulls the blade. Then I, unknowingly, come along to make a card and voila!

A fun and cute 3x3 card made using a SAB item.
