Vintage New Year's Cards #2

And on to card #2. Again, the colors of the old cards are so cool. This one is backed on Flirty Flamingo!

Vintage New Year's Cards #1

Well, when I don't have an appropriate stamp set I revert to the computer. I love anything vintage so it is always fun to make cards using vintage images. They print up so well on Stampin' Up! card stock and I can always match the colors. Here is card #1 before I mail it.

Another Train Card

I took care of a student whose dad worked for the railroads all of his career. He loved his dad and talked about the trains. His dad loves trains also. This card is for them and any fans of Sheldon and the Big Bang Theory.

Merry Christmas

Christmas is past for so many but for others they are still waiting to get together with family and friends. It makes sense that the whole world is not off on any one day of the year. Consider hospitals and the military and that covers soooo many people. So, I am posting yet another simple card. I came across my washi tape looking for something else (which I did not find  yet) and decided to play with it. This is the same layout as a couple of days ago.

Another Christmas Magic card

It is hard to believe that another season has come and is quickly ending! Goodbye Christmas 2016. I made another quick card using 2 sets actually. I used the sentiment from Greetings from Santa and the rest of the images are from Christmas Magic. So pretty!

Card Making In the Round

What a fun way to make a bunch of cards. This is how we did it with the church ladies. Who wants to play?!!! Let's plan a fun day soon!

My Paper Pumpkin

Did you get to play with your latest Paper Pumpkin kit yet? I have to say that I have not but one of my demonstrator friends who now lives far from me mailed me one of the cards so I am showing hers...Hi Nadine! This kit adds so much layers and fun. The finished product is too small to mail so Nadine just enclosed it in a regular sized envelope, No problemo!

And a Good Night to All...

I had a little time to stamp today...not so many errands to run and I played with a few Christmas cards. I can never have too many. There seems to be someone who always needs one. So I played with an old stamp set. So many are having snow now so I made a flake card.

A Wintry Wish for Christmas

In the South we do not have to worry about a white Christmas. It has only happened once in my lifetime and it had melted away by 9 AM. But, it is so pretty to look at and think about. I made a quick white wintry card here.

A Frosty Shaker Card

I have not made a shaker card in quite a while and yet they are not that hard. I wanted to do one with the cute snowman from the soon to be retiring Christmas Magic. This set has so many beautiful images and you can do so much with them. I used Whisper White card stock and a piece from the Festive Designer Paper. I added chunky white glitter for the snow.

Father Christmas

A great Father Christmas card that is square. Yes, it costs more to mail it but it is so worth it. I love the designs at the top and bottom and used the 3 trees from the Christmas Magic set. Keeping it simple, no coloring for me.

Greetings from Santa

I am loving this Christmas set but it is saying its final farewell. By January 3rd it will be gone! Get it while you can. I saw this sketch on Pintrest and decided to make it mine!

Merry Everything...Happy Always

Another great sentiment that made a pretty and easy card. Again, the card is Garden Green, Very Vanilla and uses the DSP from the annual catalog. Keeping it simple, that is always my theme for the holidays.

Christmas Gifts, Round 1

I hope every one likes handmade gifts like I do. I think they show a lot of creativity and thought. I made these the 1st weekend of November (getting them done) so I could relax more now. I bought the canning jars with the wide mouths and filled them with the yummy soft mints. I used the Big Shot to make the cool Santa on the lid and stamped the sentiment. Putting them all together for 12 fun and pretty gifts for my husband to use at work.

Vintage Santa

Who does not love the look of the vintage Santa? I know I have always been drawn to old stuff and now that I am older, well, I guess I should like me even more! I made this into a square card to fit things the way I wanted. I had to make Santa to add the toy bag. I used a sponge to add the aged look in the background.

CCMC435 - Sketch Challenge

A fun and simple sketch to play with this week at Create with Connie and Mary. I, like most all others went with the theme of Christmas. I mean...it is the most wonderful time of the year!!!

Never too early for Snow!

It is never too early for snow...at least when it comes to cards. It does not snow much here in Dallas...more icy like Atlanta but I can dream, right? So, this card is a layered dream. Very easy and I added a little bow again just to finish it off.

Merry Christmas...It is December Ya'll!

How about a non-traditional colored card for Christmas? I love this little card and it features the Wondrous Wreath set. I started with Whisper White and a piece of Crumb Cake. I embossed the cake to look like the wooden front door. I stamped the wreath with Pool Party and added a pretty bow. The dots don't show it very well but they are gold embossed. Very Pretty IRL.

A Jolly Christmas to All!

I bought 3 sets from the latest holiday catalog and one had this little stamp in it. I was perplexed about using it then...inspiration came from Pintrest. Colors are Very Vanilla, Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler. DSP is This Christmas from the annual catalog.

The Frenzy Begins...

Well, the Christmas madness has begun! I hope you will take some advice and try just to relax. I have never felt that the holidays are here just to stress us. I love making things, baking and doing my own cards so I like to start early. Even now, as I post I have already made and addressed my Christmas cards. The shopping is done and I have even shipped gifts. I like to take a little time to sit by the tree, watch some sappy movies and just enjoy life. If you believe like I do, that Jesus is the reason for the season...then do what he would do and enjoy it!

Here is my card for this year. Yes, I cased it and that is ok too! I made 2 versions.

Most friends are getting the Ho! Ho! Ho! version but my mom gets the Naughty or Nice! She will love it!

Creating Pretty Cards – Sketch Challenge #65! Again

This is another card for the monthly challenge at Creating Pretty Cards on the Craft Project Central website. I made it weeks ago but wanted to post it after Thanksgiving. Let the holiday rush officially begin! I still love the Lovely as a Tree stamp set. I know once Shelli said it would always be in the catalog. Still and Always a classic.

Hearty Thanksgiving Greetings

Here it is the day before Thanksgiving or maybe Thanksgiving day if you look at my blog the day after I post it. I lvoe the cherubic faces on these little children as they are praying. I can nver remember a feast so humble at our house even when I was one of 7 children and things were rough. After all the election turmoil and mess let us remember to give Thanks!

The little girlfriend in this card looks like she has been up to something and I doubt it has anything to do with baking a pie! Her little round face and curly hair remind me of when I was a little girl and I know I was not always a little angel. Love it!

CCMC433 - Sketch Challenge

Well, good news my friends out there. I got a job last week and started this week. I am again being a school nurse (my dream job) and I worked 4 days officially and now I am off for the week of Thanksgiving! God is so good to bless me with this great job opportunity again!

That being said, I am getting to play and stamp a little now that I am on break and not job hunting! I can also start planning vacations etc...Today I am playing with Create with Connie and Mary (probably my favorite challenge) and I made a quick Christmas card for their sketch.  Oh yeah, my DH found and restored my watermark also!

Thanksgiving Card #2

Another great Thanksgiving image and card I made with this image. I love the color blue and this little boy's blue suit is perfect with our Island Indigo.

One Last Christmas Magic (for now)

I really would like to get them done by Thanksgiving so I can be working on addressing and mailing over the holiday break. I don't have much Christmas shopping left to do so... You cannot tell in this photo or the last one but there is glitter on the snow and I do like glitter!

Christmas Magic Again...

I am going to have to decide on a card soon if I ever want to get them all made, addressed and mailed. Yes, I know it is still November but I am thinking I will have a job soon and will not have the free time that I am enjoying right now.

Christmas Magic

I really like vintage things and that holds true for vintage looking stamps. That is why I got the Christmas Magic set this year. I played with it over the weekend trying to come up with a simple Christmas card I could make a 100 or so of...this is card #1.

Christmas Magic

This is my 2nd attempt at the train from the Christmas Magic set. It does not involve coloring so it is more simplistic. I cased myself for this card.

Celebrate You

I love the dragon fly image in the Awesomely Artisitc sets. It is one of the stamps that sold me to this set. I used a couple of colors and stamped off to make the lighter images. I kept the card really simple and as you can see, smudged it at the very last second. Part is making a handmade card if you ask me is not perfection!

Creating Pretty Cards – Sketch Challenge #65!

I made a little Thanksgiving card or 2 to send home to our parents since we will not be able to make it to Georgia for the holiday this year. I downloaded a couple of vintage pictures and printed them on SU! card stock, layered and voila. This is card #1 and it is in the format for the CPC sketch #65.

You're Sublime

I am trying a little watercoloring today. I think my wc pen is too wet so I have to dry it with every swipe. Do they get too wet or are some just wetter than others? I have often had this thought so I am just going with it. I love this shiny red crab. He is so cute and snappy.  Lucky for me that water coloring is a bit forgiving!

CCMC431 - Sketch Challenge

One of my students was just baptized at church today and I had to come home to make a special card to send to him this week. It is such a special time in the life of a child when they decide that they want to dedicate their life to Christ! Since it was a boy I decided to use the Seaside Shore set and also thought it would go well with this challenge. Colors used are Tangerine Tango and Pacific Point.

Another Fall Card

It is still very warm here in the Big D but I am dreaming of color days. I will say there are not much options for trees and color changes here but I do remember the beautiful leaves in the southeast...ie Georgia. This is a card I cased from Pintrest using the stamp set I had available (now retired) but still fun!

Fall Shaker Card

If you like shaker cards and are not a member of My Paper Pumpkin you are missing out! This month has the makings of 8 shaker cards with pretty accents included. I made one of the cards yesterday and am posting it here for you. I will also post the video link from Stampin' UP!

This picture shows the pretty shaker things!
