One More for Craft Project Central

I am playing one more time for the Craft Project Central challenge. They need 10 to have a winner and everyone loves a winner! Again, the challenge is this:

048

This is my new card for this challenge.

The Paper Players 258

I am playing today with The Paper Pals challenge. I just got back from a work trip to Philadelphia...lots of  history and cool things to see and do. But I digress, I am alas a bit behind on stamping and blogging so I had to jump into this challenge tonight to get something up for my blog today! I found this to be an easy challenge this week. Anyone can play along.  I used some of the fun Cherry on Top DSP stack and layered it onto Bermuda Bay and Pool Party. I used some of the oh so fun Washi tape and stamped the octopus and anchor from Sea Street. I came together quickly and easily. Thanks for looking!

Vintage 4th of July Card

It is official here in Mustang, Oklahoma. We are celebrating the 4th with fireworks. The fire department set off $100's of fireworks on Saturday night. Yes, they do it on the weekend before the 4th so that they can put out fires on the 4th. They are legal here and people go kind of crazy!!!
So, I decided to post a vintage card. I found the image on google and printed it and made it into a card using Stampin' Up! supplies.

Another Fun Masculine Card

I have to admit that I saw this card done for a challenge and I just couldn't resist making one for me. It is a little different but the layout is the same. I love the Traveler set because I guess I am a traveler. Everyone teases me about it at work but hey, someone has to try to use all those 'unused paid vacation days' that are left unused every year! Even as this is posting I am in Philadelphia!

A Quick and Pretty No Layer Card

While my friends and I were stamping they were also looking at all my stamp sets, new and recently retired and one asked to make something using Word of Art. I quickly turned to the computer and did a search and we cased this card. It was so easy!

Using the New In Colors...

Each year I challenge myself to make one card that uses all the new In Colors. This year is no different. I chose to start with the chevrons from the Work of Art set. I stamped all 5 colors and added some of the flowers at the base. It is almost as if the flowers are wafting their loveliness up to the heavens!

One More Paper Pumpkin Card

For this card I cased a card I had on my desk. I do love the bright colors in this kit I just didn't necessarily think they would be greatly masculine. I made this one using the kit and the stamp set Flower Shop.

Butterfly Basics

I think this is going to be one of those go-to sets for me this year. It has so many beautiful elements and you can do lots of different looks with these images. This is a card I put together for my MIL who is in the hospital. Each of us has a job and mine is to send cards 2 times a week! How easy for a card maker.

I used Very Vanilla and Rose Red card stock with touches of Going Gray and Wild Wasabi inks. Simple and striking. My favorite kind of card.

My Paper Pumpkin 3-D Dad's Day Gift

We decided a long time ago not to really exchange gifts for Mother's Day and Father's Day so I always keep it very simple. I make a card and sometimes give a candy bar or little favorite snack/treat. It is so hard since he is vegan! I found a tutorial to make this kit into a tent or turn it up for a gift box. I decided to fill it with nuts he likes. How fun to have on the table when he gets up this morning.

Creating Pretty Cards – Card Challenge #48!

Here is our next Creating Pretty Cards – Card Challenge #48!!

048
This is the Sketch Again.

This is my 2nd attempt at the sketch.

It was so much fun to make this middle opening card and a pretty clever take on the sketch even if I do say so myself.

Mojo Monday 402

This is a sketch and I am loving the circles but I did find it a bit challenging. I waited all week to play along and finally sat down with "Let's Get Away." I used some of the fun new Cherry on Top stack to make the background because it has all those fun circles on it. If you know me at all you know that I love to travel. This set is speaking to my heart!

Paper Pumpkin Fan Fold Card

I think I found this on Stampin' Up! as an alternate idea for the kit. I took the one blue card and scored it in quarters and using the ink and the words in the stamp set quickly stamped this little card. It will fit in a 3x3 envelope or the little gift box that I am giving to my hubby. I will show a picture of it on Sunday!

A Fun Sun Glasses Card

This was another alternative project that I found while searching high and low for fun projects for this Paper Pumpkin kit. Love these little sunglasses!

Paper Pumpkin April 2015

I had planned to play with this Paper Pumpkin kit as well but I did not really find or love the kit as it came. I did however have 2 of this kit. One I got as my subscription and another I got for playing along with the Paper Pumpkin boot camp. I was not able to finish the last assignment and this was my door prize! So, while they were here I just hit a wall. No ideas. Now that it is the weekend and I am alone, I made a few projects that I will share with you.

I plan to make a lot of these tags and use them for add-ons for the little gifts I share with the secretaries at all of my schools this year.

Create with Connie and Mary Challenge 359

CCMC359

Another great sketch. You know how I love playing with sketches. It is all laid out for you. Just add ink and paper! So, I used some of the new DSP Bohemian. It is pretty colors and can easily be used for a masculine card. Of course, I used Wetlands and that is also masculine and quickly put together a card that could be used for anyone...man or woman.

Playing with My Paper Pumpkin - May

I had a couple of friends over the other day and we played with the latest My Paper Pumpkin. It was easy for me....no need to cut supplies etc... We made the great little gift bag that is in the kit. We aso made an alternate card project.

SUO Challenge #124, Stars and Stripes

"It’s summer in the United States, and “Stars and Stripes” seems to refer to the USA Flag and the upcoming Fourth of July Celebration.  BUT there’s much more to be done with this theme all around the world and for many occasions. For this challenge, create a project, using Stampin’ Up! products only, that features stars and stripes – or stripes and stars!  Any color combo will do." This statement challenge was taken from the SUO challenge blog.

I was looking around today in my box of Paper Pumpkin kits and found this from Novemeber. I must not have been feeling the Christmas with this kit so I had not even made one thing from the kit. I opened it for the striped card stock and was pleased with the little star banner so I used both! The sentiment is from Bravo. Colors are Pacific Point, Very Vanilla and Real Red.

Creating Pretty Cards – Sketch Challenge # 48

048

I am playing again with the monthly card challenge called Creating Pretty Cards. Every month that they have at least 10 entries someone will win a subscription to a month of great tutorials. I won in May! See my card here.  Your card can be the same as the sketch or you can flip or whatever your heart desires! Play along and join the fun!

Now for my card...I used the new DSP called Bohemian and just sort of went with the sketch exactly!

I'm Here for You card

I took some retired DSP and some heart punches and put this one together using the sentiment from the new set...You've Got This. I am going to have to ink up the flower and the beautiful shadow background image. I will be doing this soon!

Happy Birthday Balloons

This card made using my most recent Paper Pumpkin kit. I did not follow their sketch/plan. I just used the stamps and ink to make a card. I had to fussy cut the balloons because I don't have a balloon punch! What is up with that? I also hand drew the balloon streamers. Happy birthday to you!

Hello Friend

Ok, so I have been caught hoarding my DSP again. This year I am really NOT going to buy every color ( I have to keep saying that...). I always save it for something special and have too much left over at the end of the season. For this card I used Gorgeous Grunge and some stamps from My Paper Pumpkin kit. It turned out rather pretty and fun!

CCMC358 - Color Challenge

This week Connie and Mary are doing a color challenge for the card/project. I decided to flip through the new catalog and fin a card that I use for my inspiration/sketch. Mine came out just like the one seen on page 107. It was fun to do although it did take me quite some time to get it right. I used my sponge and So Saffron to make the stripes. My sentiment is from Something to Say and the butterflies are from Papillon Potpourri. Thanks for looking.

My card for the challenge.

Logan's Birthday Card - R2D2

My grandson lives in Kennesaw, GA and I called him this week to see what he wanted for his birthday. He said he was going in 1st grade and loved Star Wars, cars and books about turtles! I got him some fun gifts and made this card for him. I know as a boy he will look at it and get the cash and that is all but I thought it was fun.

Starburst Sayings

I saw a card like this recently and changed it up to make it mine. It is such a simple sketch that gives limitless possiblities. Just use what you have and make a pretty card like this. All of these pretty DSP's are retiring and as usual I have tons left over. Oh well, I will use them sometime!

PPA254: A Color Challenge

PPA254

Such a pretty combo of colors. I might not have ever thought to put them together but they really do look great. For my card I used the new set 'You've Got This.' I said I was going to use it soon. I love the splash background! My card is Very Vanilla and it all turned out so well. Thanks for the challenge!

Friday, June 5, 2015

Hello, You

This was another attempt to use some retiring DSP and quickly put together a card. I love the simple cards as the are the most striking to me. This one used the popping colors of Coastal Cabana, Real Red and Whisper White. Loving the stars!

Yippee-Skippee!

I made this little card very quickly. I used some of the fun paper stacks and cut the pieces on the left 1 1/2 by 1". The whisper white is 5 1/4 x 4 so they fit perfectly. I then cut the little paper strip from the same paper stack so it would match. The card is Calypso Coral and so is the flower from Mixed Bunch. I stamped the leaves from the Kinda Eclectic in Wild Wasabi. I eeked a little more ink from the now discontinued blendabilities.

Mojo Monday 400 Contest and Designer Search

What a fun sketch! I am taking a little time off for the summer so I have a little more time to play! Yea! So, I pulled out my new Cherry on Top designer paper stack and getting some more use from the Yippee-Skippee! stamp set. I love this candle paper and decided to make a cake with a candle on top. I added Washi tape to the white to make the cake have a little more pop. Carbs, smarbs! is what I always say anyway! I am going to eat the cake...better a paper one than a fattening one! Great sketch Julee (even though it is a repeat)!

I used the new Watermelon Wonder for the card and Bermuda Bay for the sentiment shadow. Thanks for visiting my site.

CCMC357 - Sketch Challenge

CCMC357

Another fun sketch to play with this week and this is my 3rd masculine card for this week. How odd! I am usually casing around to find something manly and I did it myself. Of course, the sketch does make it more simple. Maybe I should just always do sketches!

PPA253: A Sketch Challenge

PPA253

What a fun and different sketch this week. I love the uneven edges on the card. I was a bit stumped and did mine 'backwards' but it will do.
