Starburst Card

This is the 2nd card my stamper's made with me last week. I really like how bright and cheery it turned out to be. I really can't emphasize how much I hate this cold weather! Bring on the spring, please.

Thinking of You

Really, can you have too many of these cards? They are fun and simple to do but they look so 'hard.' This was done using the Creative Elements set and just a couple of inks...Island Indigo and Crumb Cake. Oops, I see my photo is a little off-center but you get the idea.

Dynamic Duos #86 {Subtly Yours in soft Aqua & Pink}

I am playing with these very subtle and soft colors...Pool Party and Pink Pirouette for the Dynamic Duos challenge. I have truly had a hard day today! I cleaned out the refrigerator (never for the brave of heart), pulled it out and cleaned behind it also. I have a broken shelf and I went to pick up a replacement and both of the stores have closed! Apparently Google does not know it yet so I drove all over for nothing. Then when I got home I closed the garage door and one of the springs broke. I am now crying. It has been 18 days since my hubby left for his new job and I doing all this tough moving stuff alone. Now I know you military wives do this all the time but I am still a wuss. So, when I saw this soft and sweet challenge I decided to take a break from breaking things and make a soft and sweet card.

Sketch Meets Colors

PPA188-SketchCCMC286

As you can see I am again playing with 2 challenges. Hey, a busy girl has to do what a busy girl has to do. I am moving 862 miles in a week. We are closing on one house on Tuesday and the next on Friday! Whew! Why my hubby is away in OKC I will have to play. Who knows how long before I will be set up to go again.

The sketch is from Pals Paper Arts and the colors are from Connie and Mary. I kept my card sweet and simple and I used one of the new sets called Perfect Pennants. The words in this set just spoke to me.

Yippee-Skippee!

A little card to let him know that I was thinking of him. I am sending one every other day while we are apart. He is sure to enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them for him. This one has doodling on it and it is not straight. He hates when things are not perfectly straight. It might drive him crazy!

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 297

A fun challenge, yes! I love the look of banners and again I am challenged to use this DSP package so I am trying another card using it. I have to say that it came out rather well. I started with the DSP and just kind of went with the 2 main colors plus a touch of whisper white. Very bright and cheery for these not so cheery January days.

The Paper Players #178

Whoa! I have not played with a 4 color challenge in quite and while and I have to say that it stumped me. However, it also haunted me. Great colors but I wanted to keep my card very simple.
So...my CAS card.

Weekly Specials

Weekly-deal-jan-14

I really don't know how long these great specials will be coming but take advantage of them when you can. I know I want at least one item every week. You can order them directly via my website by clicking here.

Wetlands, Again

I saw a card like this on Splitcoast and had to make one for my dive buddy. Since diving is a passion of ours it means we get to go to the ocean often and this reminds me of the dunes at the ocean. Ooh, sounds like a warm place to be right now!

Tuxedo Card

What is Black and White and Red all over??? Why, it is a tuxedo card, of course! Isn't this cute? Just a little scoring and triangles with a circle for the bow tie and Voila!

Playing x 2

For this post I am playing with 2 challenges with only 1 card. I don't usually do that but this one just sort of came to me using the colors of PPA and the layout of CCMC. It turned out pretty even though it is not what I originally had in mind. Have a great day and thanks for looking!

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 296 (TSSC296)

A quick and easy layout equals a quick and easy card. I love this layout and I struggle to use this DSP so I am trying to use some of it for this card. I am just going to have to use it!

Wetlands

It occurred to me while I was freezing from the big polar vortex that hit the far south that I should be making and sending my hubby some love in the form of cards while we are apart. He has already moved and started working in OKC and I follow in about 10 days. So, I braved the 55 degree basement to make a few cards for him. This first one is very monochromatic with the black and very vanilla.

Hello

I just love this bike image and I have used it several times! It came from one of the Paper Pumpkin kits and it is a definite keeper! I used the colors and sketch from some challenges that I missed playing with last week. It came together so quickly that way.

First Blackboard Card

I am playing along with this challenge today as I challenge myself to blog through my BIG move from Marietta, GA to Mustang, Oklahoma. I will be in transition all through the weeks of Jan 20 to the end of the month. After the closings, driving and awaiting the arrival of stuff there is all the unpacking and settling. Who knows how long it will take for me to get everything crafty back into place. But I digress...

The challenge is for a clean and simple blackboard technique card. I did this card on Tuesday night with a few of my stampers as a farewell to this group. It was fun and more simple than I realized.

Simply Sketched Sympathy

I made this card for a gentleman that I am proud to call a friend and mentor. He and his late wife were in our lives for the past 28 + years and she recently met her Lord. She had suffered for so long but death never comes at a convenient time. They had been married and sweethearts for over 75 years. What a blessing!

By the Tide

I made this card for another set of Thank You's. Since everyone knows we love the sea I could not resist. I think I cased this from Pintrest. Lots of steps and lots of fun. I actually put them all together on our flight to OKC to go house hunting.

The Rest of the Story...

Now this is the card I made using the part I cast off yesterday! Another pretty, springy card. I also used the Garden Gingham washi tape at the bottom of this card. It came together quickly and simply.

Garden Gingham

I made this pretty little card when I saw one like it on Patty Bennett's blog. I have had such a hard time using the Gingham Garden DSP so I knew I had something here I could use it with. I used my 'old' oval punch with the Melon Mambo DSP and then just used the scalloped edge for this card. I will show you tomorrow what I did with the center part that I punched out. This reminds me of spring!

Happy Day

I am always dreaming for butterfly days...warmer weather, flowers blooming and lots of smiles!

Snowflake Soiree

About this time 2 years ago in Atlanta, we were all watching the weather forecast carefully for the threat of snow. It did come and we missed a week of school. Hmm, wonder what the weather is going to be like in OK?

Happy New Year!

Stampin' Up New Year’s Card 2012

I got this card from Pamela Brubaker via Pintrest. She did it in 2012 so I don't think she will mind if I use it today. I did a search for her website but came up negative.

CCMC283 - Sketch Challenge

CCMC283

Well, I am back after about a month sabbatical at the computer and creative desk in the basement. I am in the middle of a major move...Atlanta, GA to Mustang, OK. My hubby left this morning at 6:20 AM leaving me with some alone time for the next 3 weeks. I knew this was going to happen and with the hectic holiday schedule I blogged ahead. Now I am back!

Today I made a card using this sketch. It is fresh for spring...wishful thinking on my part. I made this into a Thank You card because I am needing a lot of these for all the 'going away' gifts we have been given. We have been at the same church for 28 1/2 years!
