Nacho Average Challenge #35

Nac35

This is the sketch for the Nacho Challenge this week. I saw it and immediately thought of butterflies! Love the flag and wanted to make a bright and cheerful card. Thanks for the challenge.

Rainy Days!

I found this challenge and although I thought I had missed it also, I looked and it was still open. So, I decided to play along. Here in the ATL we have been having entirely too much rain and cloudy days for me. We may have been transported to the NW coast for all of the weather we have been having. So, I decided to make a little umbrella card for this challenge. I love the cute Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP but I don't have the matching stamp set so I had to make do. Here is my challenge card.

Pretty darn cute if I do say so myself!

CCMC240 - Color Challenge

I am playing today with the Connie and Mary challenge this week. It is a crazy week around here because our daughter is getting married this Saturday, March 2nd and there is of course, a lot to do. Being very frugal, we are trying to do as much of it as we can ourselves. I have posted the invitiations back a couple of weeks ago. More will follow this week as I have time to post. I saw their challenge and also so this card by Sandy Mathis. I love the little banners so I changed the colors, papers etc and made one for this challenge. Looks like in my hurry, I stamped the sentiment a little crooked. Oh well, now they will know that it is truly hand-made!

Week 4 - Color Challenge

I cannot believe that it is already week 4 and I have truly had no free time to even look at the tutorials or play. It is only 7 days until my only daughter's wedding and I have been so busy making everything for her wedding to be perfect! Plus I have my full-time job and part-time job and am a full-time minister's wife and Sunday school teacher. Whew! However, here at the last minute I am behind on my blogging so I am quickly making a card for the weekly challenge. I followed a simple sketch and used the masculine DSP called Parker's Pattern that just happens to have all the colors of the challenge (and more). I also used The Open Sea to make a nautical card. Too bad I missed the deadline!

Simple Simon and very manly!

My DH's Valentine to Me

One more Valentine post. I have been a bit behind with the wedding being only 8 days away! This is the sweet card that my hubby made for me for Valentines. I was so enamored with the card and the fact that he made it all by himself that I almost missed the beautiful earrings that he got me! It is our dream to retire to a sail boat and he came down and went through my stamps and made this little cutie! Now that is real love!

Oh, Hello

This set in the mini catalog is called Oh, Hello and it is so cute! I can see lots of potential for it. I also just love the new color of the Core dinations card stock in Primrose Pink. It is so fun and don't you just love the way you can sand off part of the layer to make it instantly vintage.

Whale You Be Mine?

The pictures are a bit dark...too much rain and gray skies! Anyway, I made a bunch of these little red candy stix for some of my co-workers. I love to make little things to let them know I was thinking of them but not so much as to put anyone on the spot or make them feel weird! They turned out pretty cute especially since it took me only about 15 minutes to make a bunch of them.

CCMC239 - Sketch Challenge

I am again playing with the Connie and Mary weekly challenge. I have been in absentia for the past couple of weeks on these challenges. I have 2 extra days off from school so I have time to play. Yea! I saw this challenge and decided to use the pretty pop-up posies for my focal point. I am so ready for spring and these are so fitting. It is bit busy but oh so pretty! You can see the challenge and play along by clicking here.

Clean and Simple

The title here says it all. I wanted to make another quick and easy card so I did this simple and clean card. This is a 4x4 card of Pacific Point layered with Whisper White and again Pacific Point stamped with craft White. I then put that piece on to a piece of Pumpkin Pie. 5 minutes or less. I used Creative Elements for the flower.

Button Buddies Meets Valentines Day

This is one of those little sets that I have neglected for a while so I pulled it out to make one more card for Valentines. My hubby has just become a vegan (2 weeks ago) and it has really helped his health so for a sweet treat I am giving him some dried cherries for Valentines Day. He will love them and so I put together a matching card. I used the computer for the sentiment.

Love You mini card

I made this card quickly to catch up on my blog. I needed another Valentine to get me through the holiday and this one was so easy it literally took me a good 5 minutes to make it! It is a 3x3 Real Red with Whisper White over it. I stamped the image first then ran it through the Big Shot to get the hearts on it. How sweet and simple!

The Paper Players Challenge

As you can see it is a  color challenge for this week. I was a bit stumped and really did not notice that I also used butterflies until when I posted this to my blog! Thanks for the challenge this week. I kept it simple and clean.

With Love Card

I cased this quick little card from Catherine Pooler. I don't know why the pic looks so funky but the card is really very pretty. I used Very Vanilla for the card and the top layer then stamped the big heart with Soft Suede. I stamped the little heart with Real Red on Regal Rose. The sentiment was stamped with Early Espresso. I added the little glitter for fun!

Valentine Treat for School

How about a quick Valentine treat for the school kids that is not sweet? I found this pencil in my stash and quickly made it into a little heart treat. There is lots of room on the back to sign your name for your classmates. Have fun!

Another sweet Valentine treat!

Another sweet Valentine treat! I got this little tutorial online and sat down to make it right away. I kept saying that I was going to make the tree like this but never got around to doing it. This time I got it done but almost forgot to post it! I have been working so much and been so busy with the wedding not to mention my SAD (seasonal affective disorder). Where is the sun?? It did shine yesterday and I was at work all day and could only enjoy it from the window looking out. I did put down my top on my drive home! This was quick and fun. Here is the link for you to make one.

Treat Holder Challenge for CCMC Occasions

Side View
What a fun challenge this week! I love, love, love to make 3-D projects and gifts. I made this with my stamper's club last week and just realized that it would be perfect for this challenge. I was surprised that I had not already photographed it! As you can see I used lots of the new products from the current mini...
More Amour DSP, Hearts a Flutter stamp set and matching framelits. I also used some of the window sheets from the big catty. Simple and fun! I filled mine with kisses but you could fill it with anything small.

Chocolate Lovers Valentine

This little card idea came from Leadership but was unsigned. Who made this idea? I don't know but I was quick to make one for myself! It was simple...use the Blossom builder punch and look at the images and pick the one that looks like it would make a "kiss" with the bottom cut off. Then I took the bite with the newest small scalloped punch. The tag was from Itty Bitties and the matching framelit.

Wedding Thank You Notes

Well, the showers have begun and the fun is quickly turning to serious times. We have actually done 2 showers and she has run out of her first 25 thank you notes and I had to work up some more. I quickly made 65 of these for her. The thank you's are following the aquarium wedding theme and colors, of course!
The framed art has a B for Bracegirdle and their names...Justin and Aubrey.

Making Wedding Invitations

My daughter (the blond) is getting married March 2nd at the Chattanooga Aquarium and we are getting down to the wire here. This is a couple of pics of the bridesmaids as we worked on her invitations. Being an aquarium wedding she chose Tempting Turquoise for her main color with accents of black and silver. She wanted a pocket fold invite and knew exactly what she wanted as soon as she saw it. I keep a file of old invites I have received so I can always have some inspiration.  My DH even made a QR code for the techy people who want to see where she has registered and RSVP on her site at the Knot.

Twizzlers for my Valentine

I picked up a little bag of Twizzlers at the $ store and wanted to make a quick Valentine gift with them. This is what I came up with. I was a bit challenged with doing more than the banner so I decided on the lolly. It was quick and easy two of my favorite combo's.

Hearts a Flutter

I love the work that Mary Brown does, she is so clean and simple and that is my favorite style of stamping. I saw this card and marked it to make with my stamper's club and if you missed it here it is. Just a simple white and white card that rally pops! We made ours into a Thank You note. These stamps are in a new set called Hearts a Fluter and they have a matching framelit and can be bought at a 15% discount when you buy them together! Click here to shop now.
